New boats: 60m Cloud 9 Motor Yacht

60m Cloud 9 motor yacht opens a new range of steel new boats by the French yacht building company CMN (Constructions Mecaniques de Normandie). The CMN Line 60 is a common project of the CMN and renown artist Andrew Winch. Cloud 9 ‘s features are similar to the Slipstream, the motor yacht from the same range. The wide beam allows for great internal features, this combined with four active stabilizers creates a very comfortable yacht at sea. New boats: 29.1 m Alcanara cruising sloop

29.1 m Alcanara cruising sloop is a recent launch by Dubois yachts for unknown Australian customer. This 95.5 foot sloop fast yacht is now under construction with Steve Ward in Perth, W.A. Alcanara is constructed from aluminum, it has been inspired from the earlier creation - Margret Ann yacht, built in 2004. The new boat promises contemporary look with some small changes to the interior layout and superstructure. 29.1 m Alcanara cruising sloop new boatThere are currently 13 yachts in build at Dubois. Alcanara is the smallest one. The largest of the yachts in build is the 191.59 foot Kokomo, due to launch in 2010. This sloop sailing yacht is slated to be a significant advancement in the entire yacht design industry because it will not only be one of the largest sailing yachts, but also the best performing of all regardless of their size. Dubois Naval Architects Ltd. has certainly outdone itself, and the others, with this luxury superyacht.

New boats: 1936 Fife Eilean was restored and launched this autumn

Renowned Scottish boatyard Fife created their legendary 22-metre Bermudian ketch Fife Eilean in remote 1936. Nobody expected then that this boat will be restored and launched again in 2009! After more than two and a half years of a hard and creative restoration work 1936 Fife Eilean in September 2009 appeared on the sea again in its original brilliance vintage face.
1936 Fife Eilean new boat image2On October 22nd, at the Sezione Velica of the Italian Navy in La Spezia, Fife Eilean was handed over by the Francesco del Carlo boatyard to Officine Panerai, Italian watchmaker, an official sponsor of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge, the most important international circuit of regattas for classic and vintage yachts.
